Tooth Filling | Composite Dental Fillings

Silver amalgam used to be the norm when it came to filling material. However, silver fillings do not have much aesthetic appeal, and can eventually cause damage to your teeth. The amalgam can break the tooth down, causing a fracture and the need for a crown to salvage the tooth. Today, we can eliminate the dark appearance in your teeth with state-of-the-art, tooth-colored resin or porcelain materials. Composite fillings require less removal of your healthy tooth structure than silver amalgams and eliminate unwanted traces of mercury found in amalgam filling materials.

After much research, tooth-colored filling materials have been developed that are stronger, longer lasting, and more aesthetically pleasing to our patients. Composed of porcelain and composite resin, these tooth-colored restorations bond directly to the tooth, strengthening it by restoring most of its original shape. Restorations can be custom-colored to match your teeth and help give you the most natural-looking smile possible.
