Same Day Crowns | CEREC

Ask Dr. Christ if he can give you a crown today!

Dental decay, oral infections, or even accidents can leave you with misshapen teeth and take away

the confidence that you once had in your smile. Making corrections to these fractured or decayed

teeth is critical not only for appearance but also for everyday functions such as speaking or eating.

Dental crowns can bring your smile back to its highest potential.

Dental Crowns

Dental crowns are used to restore teeth that have gone through major damage or decay. A crown can restore your tooth back to its original shape, strength, and appearance. Crowns can also prevent further decay from happening if the patient has proper oral hygiene.

Made from metal amalgam, white composite, or white porcelain, dental crowns fit directly over a damaged tooth, bringing it back to its original form again. Crowns are essentially a cap for your tooth.

Crowns help to:

  • Restore fractured or broken teeth

  • Hold pieces of a broken tooth together

  • Restores a severely decayed tooth

At the office of Kevin M. Christ, DMD, we offer one-day crowns with Cerec.

The process of creating traditional dental crowns can take weeks to even months to complete.

Thanks to modern technology this lengthy process has been eliminated.

Now, you don’t have to wait with Cerec same–day crowns. This modern technology makes use of

both computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) and computer-aided design (CAD),

to provide high-quality dental restoration work much faster than traditional methods.

What are CEREC Crowns?

CEREC same-day dental crowns are the most modern technology available in dental restoration. Patients, their teeth, and their smiles stand to gain numerous benefits from same-day crowns.

The CEREC same-day crown milling machine allows us to create your new crown right in our office.

The name CEREC is an acronym that stands for Chairside Economical Restoration of

Esthetic Ceramics – also known as CERamic REConstruction.

  • Traditional impressions can be quite uncomfortable.

  • Traditional crowns have an average lifespan of only ten years.

Why should I get dental crowns?

People who have missing or damaged teeth now have the option to receive dental crowns to restore their teeth to a more aesthetically pleasing and functional state. This includes people who may also have tooth gaps. Decay From the old tooth is removed, and often the entire core of the tooth is rebuilt. When the inner tooth is prepared and ready, a molded cap is cemented and carefully placed over the core tooth. Many people who receive dental crowns have the benefit of a better bite and a fuller smile, which can improve your ability to chew food, and improve your digestion.

Who receives dental crowns?

People who have damaged teeth or gaps in their gumline often receive dental crowns. Conditions that qualify for a crown include:

  • Cavities

  • Entirely missing teeth or unnatural tooth gaps

  • Dental implants that need to be covered

  • Cracked teeth

  • Teeth that are worn down

How are dental crowns placed?

From the initial consultation to receiving a full tooth crown, there are a series of steps taken in order to have your teeth look aseptically pleasing and functional. Learn more about caring for your crown...
